Los Angeles Breast Lift

The breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts often caused by pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. The breast lift can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The breast augmentation procedure can also be performed in conjunction with mastopexy to increase both their firmness and their size.

During the procedure, incisions are usually made around the nipple-areolar complex and in the crease under the breast. The nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, while the excess skin is removed. The breasts are reshaped in a pleasing contour and in a more normal position. The breast lift is intended to give the patient an elevated, more youthful breast contour, as well as nipple-areolar complexes of the desired size and at the correct height.
