Dr. Teitelbaum's patients may choose to recover from plastic surgery at Serenity plastic surgery aftercare facility. Serenity is the very first cosmetic surgery aftercare facility in the United States that is located in a hospital (which is brand new). Serenity is located at 2021 Arizona Avenue in Santa Monica, California. Suites are located on the second floor which is private and discreet. Serenity is directly across the street from Dr. Teitelbaum's office and surgery center, which makes it very convenient for Dr. Teitelbaum to drop in and confirm your progress.
Even though it can be a significant drive from many parts of Southern California, plastic surgery care is so excellent at Serenity that it is the post-operative care facility of choice for plastic surgeons located throughout Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. So it is particularly beneficial for Dr. Teitelbaum and his patients that it is located in Santa Monica directly across the street from his office. This means that patients are settled in their rooms where they will sleep after their plastic surgery less than five minutes after leaving Dr. Teitelbaum's operating facility. It means that you will have peace of mind knowing that Dr. Teitelbaum and his staff are right across the street from you throughout your recovery from plastic surgery. Dr. Teitelbaum usually makes rounds at Serenity at least twice a day, which saves you from a long car ride to make postoperative visits to your plastic surgeon (and he lives five minutes away in case of a problem.).
The amount of time you stay at Serenity will vary with your surgical procedure and your personal preferences. For instance, some plastic surgery patients with young children have good help at home and want to go home as soon as possible. Others do not want their children to see them right away, and they want to recover in peace and privacy with no one jumping on them! So, different patients undergoing the same procedure often have very different ways in which they want to use Serenity.
Typically, Dr. Teitelbaum does not require breast lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation, facelift, or liposuction patients to stay at Serenity (though most all facelift patients will stay, as well as many of the other patients, depending on what is most convenient for them.). However, he will typically ask that abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), lower body lift, and larger volume liposuction patients stay in Santa Monica at Serenity. He will also usually suggest that patients undergoing more minor procedures that live in Southern California, but are a long drive away, stay at Serenity, or even a hotel in Santa Monica. This saves them a long drive home after surgery and back the next day for a check-up. Also, not infrequently, patients will have questions the night of surgery such as whether the amount of swelling is normal, and if you are in Santa Monica, it is practical for Dr. Teitelbaum to see you and address your concerns.
